Disabled Dating Story
Since I use the wheelchair to get around, I think that I qualify for so called disabled dating; I used to be shy when younger, thinking that I don't have any chances to meet women and have a regular dating life. It all changed when I got my first job and started using the Internet more than before.
I think the regular work affected my self-confidence in a positive manner; and that, coupled with my discovery of the Internet's potential as a dating resource, made me realize that I deserve to be happy. Sure, the girls did not exactly screamed at the door of my apartment in Christchurch, but there were lots of those interested to meet me; some found me attractive while others thought that I'm interesting and funny.
That boosted my confidence and I started going out on regular dates ever since, even having two steady relationships over the years. I don't really thinking about myself in terms of being disabled or using a wheelchair, but rather in terms of a person who deserves to be happy but just so happens to have some special needs; I've grown beyond the label of disabled dating.
